Sparkle Louder On New Years With Hpnotiq And Win!

Admittedly, New Years Eve is one of my most favorite holidays which really doesn't even make sense seeing as how I typically never have plans until about two days prior. Don't ask me why, but my friends and I just never seem to get our shit together on time, yes somehow we always end up having a really amazing time. 

My lack of preparation always makes for an interesting time finding something to wear, usually it results in a panic of a trip to the mall on December 30th, frantically sorting through wracks of clothes that hundreds of women, who were actually prepared, have already sorted through. I wish I was kidding, but what can I say? Procrastination just runs through my veins.

Last year my New Years procrastination, sort of, bit me in the ass but there's no need to discuss that. Two years ago, though, two years ago I had the best New Years ever and it was planned in a really short amount of time, as always. The company was great, the atmosphere was incredible, and it even ended with a super questionable cap ride home that, even considering the drunken stupor I was in, I'll never forget. 

This year is going to be a little different, and a lot more special, since it's the first New Years that bear and I will be ringing in together. If I'm being totally honest here, I'm actually really excited about it. Like I said, I'm a huge fan of the holiday and I love the optimistic feeling that comes with the arrival of a new year. Especially when I get to be my dream guy's first smooch of the year. Ah. This is my totally getting girly and giddy over the thought of New Years already.

Speaking of optimism, Hpnotiq is hosting the Sparkle Louder contest that could possibly change your (or my) New Years this year drastically by giving us a chance to ring in the new year in New York city! And not just in NYC, but in Times Square where all of the cool people hang out and watch the ball drop. So, instead of getting your first kiss of 2014 in front of a tv screen, you could be getting it right in the heart of Times Square. 

So, now's the fun part where I should probably avoid the inevitable procrastination and start finding my outfit. You know, because we're clearly going to win this trip and we'll be celebrating New Years with Erin and her man in no time. (Don't worry, you guys can still enter here for a chance to win the other prizes, like blue Topaz rings or one of 50 Effy rings.) Here's my wardrobe issue, though... Everything I love is so expensive. Someone please tell me I'm not alone in this?

For example, I've been dying to wear Samantha's birthday dress for New Years since the first Sex and the City movie came out. Is it not the most stunning and perfect celebration dress of life? Answer: yes.

But since I don't have a thousand dollars to spend on a dress I'm going to wear one night, I'm forced to look elsewhere. These are two I'm currently leaning towards... but, who knows, I may change my mind and go crazy a month from now. Ah, the joys of being a female.

Anyways, I'm really going to make an effort to pick out myself a fancy party dress and make plans prior to two days before one of my favorite holidays this year because I'm not even going to let my first New Years with bear pass without it being amazing. Not happening, my friends.
