Pink lips and football games.

Penulis : Unknown on Monday, 24 September 2012 | 06:27

Monday, 24 September 2012

Gooood morning, lovers! I am DRAAAAAGING this morning. I think I got about 2 solid hours of sleep last night and I'm feeling it bad... I've got to get on board with this melatonin thing so many of you ladies seem to be loving. My plan is to get on that TONIGHT. I needz my sleep.

This weekend flew by and I can't believe this is the last week of September. WHERE has 2012 gone?!

On Friday we went to happy hour and I rocked some hot pink lips. We are extreme homebodies so I'll use any excuse to bust out my current fav lipstick.

Anyone else loving this bright lip trend going on right now? I can't get enough. They make me feel so Khloe Kardash.

Side note from happy hour... we had fried banana peppers. Can we please talk about this for a second?! So delish. These were a close relative of my love, fried pickles, for sure.

After happy hour we went home where I proceeded to drink 2 more glasses of wine and fell asleep by 9. Your girl can't hang anymore and it's starting to get slightly embarrassing.

Saturday was game day aka my favorite excuse to day drink! We met up with my favsie honey boo boo, Kate and her hubz to watch the Gator game. I was the long ranger Nole fan but it's cool...  Garnet and gold are much more attractive colors.

Once again, I came home from the bar and took a nap. I'm telling you, 20 year old Whitney wouldn't even know this person I am anymore. Not too long from now I'll be going to get fitted for some orthopedic shoes. Here's to hoping they have pink ones with sparkles.

Once I woke up from my hibernation nap it was time for my Noles to whoop some Clemson ass. They did not disappoint and I was one happy Nole fan!

Throwing this cutie in here because she looks like a munchkin waiting on the stairs for me to let her out in the morning.

Yesterday I got to hang out with my mama for a little lunching and shopping. She finally convinced me to buy my new case for my iPhone 5 since we got shipping confirmation on Saturday. So ready for my new phoneeeee. Come to mama, Siri.

Which reminds me... I'm having a harder time deciding what I want Siri to call me than I did choosing a new case... which was really way more difficult than it should have been.

And with that, I think I'm done with my rambling for today. I warned you all, I'm running on little to no sleep. If you have feelings and thoughts on melatonin feel free to give me your two cents. I'm desperate for some good sleep without having trippy dreams and feeling like I'm a zombie in the morning.

Have a lovely Monday, all!

Smokey Eyeshadow (tutorial)

Penulis : Unknown on Thursday, 30 August 2012 | 05:36

Thursday, 30 August 2012

I feel slightly like a scam blogger today, as I'm posting this wearing zero makeup up, but... Last week I shared a natural eyeshadow tutorial with you all and it seemed to go over really well, so this week I'm going to share another makeup tutorial!

This week I'm going to show you how I do my more "going out" look!

As always, I start with -

Shadow: MAC - Nylon

Brush: Finger

I marked where I put Nylon with a low opacity brush in Photoshop (if you couldn't tell that was Photoshopped).

Again, this part makes a nice highlight at the corner of your eye as well as your brow bone.

The next step is also the same as last week -

Shadow: Urban Decay (Naked 1 or 2 Palette) - Half Baked

Brush: Finger

Apply to your eyelid, blending with the nylon at the corner of your eye.

Now we're going back to the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette and brush.

Shadow: Urban Decay (Naked 1) - Naked

Brush: The brush that comes in the Naked 1 palette

Take a nude shadow and "fill in" the area of your eye that we've not yet put shadow on - more specifically, the crease or the area above your eyelid and below the brow bone.

Shadow: Urban Decay (Naked 2) - Snakebite

Brush: MAC 217

Now is when you want to create the real smokey effect. Focus on the crease and blend upward - making the darkest area the crease and corner (noted by the darker opacity Paintbrush).

Shadow: Urban Decay (Naked 1) - Dark Horse

Brush: Urban Decay Naked 1 brush

Using a very dark brown you want to really accentuate the crease and corner.

*If you don't have a deep crease to your natural eye use the dark brown to make it appear you do. The glory of makeup!*

Top Eyeliner

When I'm doing eyeliner for a night out I always use a black shadow and liner brush on top of the liquid liner by tracing over the liquid line. This will help keep your upper liner from coming off.

Bottom Liner

I use a dark shadow for bottom eyeliner because I think I looks a lot more natural than pencil or liquid. I always keep my bottom liner darker at the outer corners and blend inwards towards the light shadow (MAC - Nylon) at the inner corner.

MAC - False Lashes Extreme Black

Add your mascara.

Voila!

Like this tutorial?

That's all I've got for you today, loves.
Ciao!

I Wore Goggles to Work.

Monday, 27 August 2012

Ok, so I didn't really... but I considered it.

This is what it currently looks like here in the "sunshine state". No sun in sight. Like, zero.

I want nothing more than to be in my bed right now, snuggling with these two little muffins...

Both were less than thrilled when I nudged their little butts into the grass this morning to "potty".
Sorry, bugs.

As I mentioned on Friday, I had no big plans over the weekend. Soooo, I really don't have much else to report on today. Exciting, huh?

Yesterday I got to experience the best form of birth control. My niece's 2nd birthday. I was around 4 children ranging from 2 to 7 years old for about an hour and a half. It. Was. TERRIFYING. Props to you mamas out there. That shiz gave me enough anxiety to need multiple double mimosas.

I did, however, use the occasion to test out a new shade of lipstick I hadn't yet been brave enough to sport.

How do we feel about bright fuchsia lipz, ladies?
I think I likey.

Here's le mama and myself from yesterday. Don't we look like we're having a blast? ha.no.

Alright. I really have nothing much more to say.
I'll see you tomorrow!

Every Day Eyeshadow (tutorial)

Penulis : Unknown on Thursday, 23 August 2012 | 05:52

Thursday, 23 August 2012

One of my favorite bloggy homegurlz, Kate, requested an eyeshadow tutorial from me and when a homegirl asks for something your girl delivers! Today, I'm going to show you all my every day eyeshadow how-to. Not to say I wear eyeshadow (or any other makeup) every day, or even every other day, but when I am going au natural with makeup - this is what I do.

Prime your eyelids with whatever primer you prefer. I use foundation, most of the time, for my natural shadow.

Shadow: MAC - Nylon

Take a beige/nude shadow, I use MAC's Nylon, and highlight your brow bone, insides of your eye lid and under the corner of your eye.

Brush: For this I use my finger.
I only recommend this when you're doing your own makeup... don't go sticking your dirty fingers on your friend's bare skin.

Shadow: Urban Decay (Naked 2) - Half Baked

Brush: Finger

Using a bronze shadow and my finger, I cover my eyelid and move slowly up towards the brow bone - under the highlighted shadow I previously applied.

Shadow: Urban Decay (Naked 2) - Snakebite

Brush: MAC 217

Blend a dark brown shadow from the outer corner of your eyelid into the crease of the eyelid - slowly moving up to contour the crease. Nothing too drastic, this is supposed to be a natural look.

I like to go a little darker on the outer corner for shape.

As for the shadow, that's it.

Now I line the top of my eyelids with L'Oreal's liquid liner... I slightly wing the outsides, but that's personal preference.

The finishing touch on this look is MAC's False Lashes Extreme.

And viola! This is a very simple look that really isn't very time consuming. Why don't I always wear it? Well... I'm lazy. ha. In a perfect world, I'd do this look every day.

Like this tutorial?

Depending on how this post goes, and if it's actually helpful (I have no idea if I'm good at explaining this stuff, so let me know!) I will do a similar tutorial on a more "going out" look with darker shadows and under-eye liner.

Here is the post where I talk about the different makeup I use, if you missed it.

Happy almost Friday, loves!

What's On My Face.

Penulis : Unknown on Tuesday, 14 August 2012 | 07:44

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Good morning, loves, and happy Tuesday. I have the day off today so I'm spending a little extra time on today's post and I'm sharing a little secret with you all...

So, guess what?

I don't actually wake up looking like this. Shocking, I know. Of course my boo wakes up looking sexy... damn you, men.

I can't believe I'm actually posting this, but this is actually what I do look like when I wake up...
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for nightmares this photo may cause.

Yeah, that's some scary shiz. I know. Those aren't even Louis Vuitton bags under my eyes, guys. Uneven skin, red nose... Surely I'm the cause of any and all nightmares C has.

So, how do I get from Scary Spice to Baby Spice (yes, dammit, I'm still living that performance)... today I will show you!

First, here is a look at the products I use on the regular, in order from start to finish.

As far as primers go I'm not too picky, though I am a big fan of the pore minimizers. I got Benefit's Porefessional in a Birchbox so I've been using that sample up lately, but my original choice has always been Too Faced Primed and Poreless.

Once I'm primed I cover my face, blending at my neck, with Revlon's PhotoReady foundation. I really love this stuff which is shocking because I am, sort of, a makeup snob. I apply this foundation with my hands.

Next I take a makeup sponge and apply by dabbing MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer under my eyes and on my nose.

Before I started realizing my skin was aging I never, ever wore foundation. Only MAC StudioFix. Ha, if only we could all be so lucky now, huh? Nowadays I dust StudioFix over my forehead, nose, and chin (T-zone) just to eliminate shine throughout the day.

I learned of Benefit's highlighter, High Beam, from PinkLouLou a little over a year ago and it pretty much changed my entire makeup regiment. This stuff is face glow in a bottle! I apply it to my cheek bones and right under my eyebrows.

I'm a huge fan of MAC's Mineralize bronzers and blushes. My cheek bones get brushed with pink or very light bronze and I accent them with a darker bronze.

I start with MAC's Nylon eyeshadow every single time I do my eye makeup. I've loved this color for as long as I can remember and it is the perfect shadow to highlight the inside corners of the eye. Also great for the brow bone, under your eyebrows.

For everyday shadow, I use half baked and snake bite from Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette. I plan to make another post, one of these days, on my eyeshadow application, stay tuned!

This is liquid eyeliner by L'Oreal and another drugstore product I swear by. I've been using this eyeliner since I was a competitive dancer. It makes perfect lines without bumps or flaws!

And lastly, as I posted a little while ago... MAC's False Lash is the only mascara for me!
