Glitter Champagne Bottle Tutorial

I made this as a graduation gift for one of my best friends.

You see, I'm not the friend you invite to your party because you know you're going to get some super awesome, expensive gift. No. I'm just the one you invite to your party because I like to party.

Sorry, friends.

Today I'm going to show you how I made this glittery champagne bottle.

You don't have to limit this to a champagne bottle, I believe I actually go the idea from someone who did this to a bottle of liquor.

This is probably the easiest tutorial ever because it was the easiest project ever.

Here's what you need:

- Bottle to glitter-fy

- Mode Podge

- Gloss finishing spray

- GLITTER

- Any type of small paint brush

Little by little you want to brush on Modge Podge in areas around the bottle and sprinkle the glitter on.

Don't push the glitter down, just sprinkle a lot on.

Continue until you've covered the entire bottle, framing around the labels.

Let the bottle dry completely and then spray a thin coat of finishing spray on the entire bottle.

Do not over spray bottle - it will dull the glitter and then your bottle will look sad.

Ta daaaa. That's. It.

I want to make a few of these to put around my house. They look SO fancy and this was a hit with everyone who saw it!

Talk weavy to me.

Heyyyyy you guyssss, since we all made it another day I'm here today to talk serious business.

And by serious business, I mean WEAVE. 

It's no secret I love to rock locks of other people's hair on my head and I've even admitted that it's somewhat of a dude magnet. My secret weapon, if you will.

Well, when Best Hair Buy contacted me asking if I'd review some weave for them I heard the blogging angels singing from high above.

Finally, this damn blog paid off. Just kidding, I love this blog, we know this.

Here's the hair I'm talking about today, if you missed my post on Monday.

When I was browsing BestHairBuy.com I decided to get a little crazy and order the 22 inch clip-in human hair extensions, which are 4 inches longer than the previous weave I'm used to.

Once they arrived I was really excited because they were great quality and definitely the best type of human hair extensions! 

Moving on, let's talk about the additional products you'll need to achieve this look.

1. Obviously, you need to get you some weave. Again, mine came from Best Hair Buy.

2. Moroccan Oil. You don't have to use this exact brand but get you some lube hair oil. 

3. Hair spray. I'm a big lover of the Moroccan Oil hair spray, too.

4. Chardonnay. You already know.

5. Curling iron/wand. I'll explain this in the vlog.

Except the Chardonnay turned on me and I forgot to say good bye at the end. I hope we can still be friends.

Bow Tree Skirt {Tutorial}

Hey friends, guess what?

Yesterday on my lunch break I went to Hob Lob in search of a tree skirt for Charles, my Christmas tree.

Turns out, tree skirts are a complete rip off.

I'm talking $60 for a piece of fabric.

I don't know about you guys but my budget doesn't have $60 to spare for something I will only use for the next month.

-Insert my ballin' on a budget mindset here-

So, I took a detour and headed to the fabric isle, trying my best to remember all of those things I learned while obtaining that degree I don't use in Fashion Design.

All I knew is that I was not interested in sewing so I really had to pull out my creative juices.

Today, I present...

Here's what you need:

3-4 yards of tulle

Straight pins

That's it. Guys, I made this for under $5.

1. Wrap tulle around the tree stand as if you were prepping to tie a normal bow.

Leave one "tail" longer than the other.

Be sure to surround the tree stand so it's fully masked with pretty tulle.

2. Take 3 straight pins and connect the tulle in the center - like this:

3. Form each side in to a bow shape using straight pins to help keep it's form. 

Be sure to pin the side with the longer "tail" last so that it's sticking out.

4. Wrap your long tail around the center to create the final bow appearance and pin in the back as much as necessary. 

Note: I used a couple of extra pins to tack back extra fabric that stuck out.

Let the straight pins be your amiga, compadre, BFF.

And viola! You have yourself a Christmas tree wrapped in a bow.

Tilted star and all. Just kidding, that's Charles and his swag.

Butt crease yoga pants.

Today I have no motivation to write much of substance here because I woke up at 5am this morning and didn't ever fall back asleep.

Anxiety is one serious son of a bitch but I'll get into that with you all another time.

Quickly, before I run to work my day away only to work my weekend away packing up my life, I need to share my current mind blowing obsession.

Bloggers, if you aren't familiar with Google Analytics you have got to go familiarize yourself right now. Seriously, I give you permission to ditch my blog and go sign up now.

If not for the great that comes with knowing how your blog is performing (I like to think of my blog as a ballerina performing on stage in a tutu) then do it for the real-time overview. Real talk, I am so amused by the feature it's embarrassing.

Here's how to install Google Analytics in your Blogger template:

Go to Settings --> Other

Find the Google Analytics box.

Next you need to open another window and sign in to Google Analytics with your blogger account.

Select on your blog on the Account Home page.

At the top left hand of your screen you'll see an orange navigation menu --> Click on the drop down  arrow of the very first box.

You should see a number that has 2 letters at the beginning --> Copy the entire number including before and after the dashes. This is your Analytics Property Web ID.


Go back to your blogger settings where you found the Google Analytics box and enter your Analytics Property Web ID.


And you're done.
Give it a couple minutes to start tracking your blog's analytics and, if you're a complete nerd like me, see how much fun it is.

Or if you don't really care about analytics you can at least find humor in seeing the current search terms leading to your blog that don't show up on your blogger stats.

Easy Glitter Polish Removal (tutorial)

Good morning, lovers! Today I have a really fun tutorial to share with you that may blow your mind.

You know glitter nail polish and how it kind of makes you want to chop your finger tips off when it comes time to remove it? What if I told you that you wont ever need to worry about removing it again and it will only take you a minute or two to get it all completely off? The best part? This method uses absolutely no nail polish remover.

Yes, you are seeing correctly. Elmer's glue with a dash of water, creates a base coat that makes glitter (or any polish) removal absolutely hair-pulling-free! 

First, I emptied a bottle of polish and filled it just slightly with a splash of water.

Next fill the remainder of the bottle with glue and shake to mix.

Polish your clean nails with the glue mixture.
*do not use any other base coat - only the glue mixture*

Very important - Let the glue dry completely. You will know it's dry once your nails appear bare again.

Paint your nails normally and top with your favorite top coat.

I used Party Rockin' by Lush Lacquer - which would typically be a horrendous task to remove.

When it came time to remove my polish I used an orange manicure stick to gently peel it off. Much to your surprise, and mine, it came off almost with zero effort at all. 

And that's it! Zero issues, zero scrubbing and scraping, zero damage to the nail! I plan on using this method of polish removal from now on... under all polish, not just glitter. This should really cut back on my acetone bill, too.

I promise you that the most difficult task of this tutorial is the cleaning out of the polish bottle. The rest is a breeze! Go give it a try and tell me what you think.
