My vote and it's not presidential.

Thursday, 4 October 2012

So, last night I was skimming my TV - mostly trying to avoid all forms of social media at the risk of forming negative opinions against people I currently enjoy.
I ended up finding a gem you may, or may not, have heard of called Pretty Woman and it got me thinking... This movie is from the 90's and that red dress is fantastic.
Unlike most 90's fashion statements, I would totally rock that dress right now. You know, if I actually had somewhere to wear such a gown to. Someone invite me to your wedding (as a guest)?

Obviously, I don't want to go through the whole prostitution thing before I'm gifted this charming gown but, aside from that scary 90's up-do, I wouldn't mind adding this to my wardrobe.

So then my wine flooded brain started brainstorming other dresses from movies I wouldn't mind flipping through the next time I go to that corner of my closet full of dresses I've only had reason to wear once.

I remember being in high school when this movie came out and I would have died to wear this to prom. Fortunately, my mother was much more wise than I ever gave her credit for and warned me that it was a very popular selection.
She was right... Every other hoe had this dress on at prom and I wasn't one of them. Joke's on them.
Thanks, mom.

Now the test to find my forever soul sisters reading right now...
10 Things I Hate About You... Bianca... prom.
I die.
This dress could do no wrong in my book when this movie was popular.
I was a mere 5 years away from seeing a prom dress but you better believe I attempted to recreate this look for my very first homecoming...
Seriously... here's proof.
What a baby hoe.

Sex and the City... well, it's hard to select any one look from this series.

I'll take any of these... or just about any other Carrie outfit. Minus the days she got gangster on us... that was awkward.
You know, where she had the Chanel scarf on her head thing going on? Gangsta C.Bradshaw, what?

And that's all I've got for you all today, folks. I'm off to New York for the bf's birthday celebration so you won't see me around these parts tomorrow... I know, don't be too sad.
Just to heal your broken little hearts from my absence, I have a guest so fabulous she blows all of these ladies above out of the water.
Yes, even baby hoe me.

See you when I'm back from the Big City, y'all. I'm off to perfect my C.Bradshaw looks for the weekend.

Photobucket

Dear Boyfriend, thank you for grilling out for me last night because I was craving your ribs. They were delicious as always. Also, thank you for those sexy, beefy arms of yours. Meow. Love, me.

Dear Pick Your Plum, I've now started ordering the most random things from you, like these cute straws. I legitimately have no use for them but I couldn't sway myself from the $3 price tag. I don't hate you but, damn, you make it so hard to stay away. Mama needs to go make more monies to afford you. GroopDealz, Very Jane, and Jewlery Nut Auctions this goes for you three, too.

Dear Mama, I'm really glad you are cool enough to appreciate my giving you a case of Cupcake Chardonnay for your birthday. I was slightly nervous you were going to think it was a cop out, but really I just wanted to shower you in delicious vino.

Dear High Buns, please don't go out of style soon. You're too easy and cute. I think I love you.

Short and sweet today. So happy it's Friday! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.

How I Did It - Nail Stamping Tutorial

Penulis : Unknown on Friday, 13 July 2012 | 06:00

Friday, 13 July 2012

I posted my latest manicure on Instagram yesterday and got a lot of feedback, mostly wondering how I did it! I am a polish lover who thinks everyone should be too, so I figured I'd do a little tutorial so those of you who are interested can try it out.

Tools needed:
Nail plates (I used plate 322 from Bundle Monster's newest plate set)
Polish fit for stamping. I used Konad Special White
Note: not all polishes will stamp correctly.
Stamper & scraper. Mine are Konad brand.
Nail polish for base coat. I used 2 coats of China Glaze 'Turned Up Turquoise'.
Brush & polish remover for clean up.
Top coat. I used Seche Vite.

How to:

1. Paint all of your nails with your desired base color polish. Let this coat dry very well. You can even put a fast drying top coat over it if you are impatient.

2. Paint a thin layer of your stamping polish over the image you've selected to stamp with.

3. Scrape off excess polish from plate and gently roll (think one-way rocking motion... only one way, don't actually rock it) your stamper over it. You will see the design on your stamper. If it didn't transfer how you were hoping, clean it off with remover and start over. It will stamp nearly identical to what you see on your rubber stamper.

If you are having trouble with too much polish scraping out of your image try scraping it from a different direction.

4. Just as you rolled your stamper on the plate roll it over your nail. It will get a little messy on your skin, don't worry!

5. Clean up! Use some remover or acetone and a brush or Q-tip to clean up the extra polish you stamped on your skin.

6. Finish with a top coat and enjoy your gorgeous new manicure!

Celebrate Good Times.

Penulis : Unknown on Thursday, 26 April 2012 | 06:18

Thursday, 26 April 2012

Good morning and happy Thursday, friends. I'm suffering from slight crabbiness today but it's almost Friday so I guess I can't be too crabby, right?

On Tuesday I headed to the mall after work in search of a new MK watch, most importantly a rose gold MK watch. I've been wanting one of these beauties since I brought home my silver MK about a year and a half ago, so it was clearly time to reward my patience. ;) Does it not scream "PRINCESS"?! Loving it!

Tuesday night we had a celebratory date night because the BF landed an awesome job, his first one out of college! I decided to rock my new blazer for the occasion and I have to admit that I might slightly be a newborn "Maxxinista" in training. Yeah, yeah, I got this adorable little number from TJ Maxx - and the best part is... it was only $20. I went in the store in search of home decor and shockingly enough walked out with a (freaking adorable) long skirt and this cuhute blazer. Don't knock it till you try it, loves!

Last, I want to chat about this new little contraption that's popped up in my local Publix a few weeks ago. I headed there Tuesday to grab a celebratory bottle of champs for the BF and decided to try out this "Chilla" that recently took place of the little fridge at the end of the wine and beer isle (also known as my most visited isle). Initially I was totally intrigued and also slightly positive I needed one of these in my house. WRONG. This thing took 8 minutes of my life I'll never, ever, get back. My bottle of Chandon would have gotten colder from sitting in front of a handheld fan for 8 minutes. Thumbs down, Publix. Bring back the old fashioned mini-fridges!
